alex was basically sick to death of battling her whole family. they'd never accepted her and what they called, "her issues". well, for one, probably wouldn't have had those issues if it wasn't for the fact that they'd never tried to get her help, and always thought that she was lying about seeing spirits. sure, any psychiatrist would have said that she didn't actually see spirits of the dead, that it was merely for attention because she was the youngest in the family, and felt she was never given the love and affection she needed and deserved. well, yeah, alex wasn't, but that was besides the point. the point was she wasn't lying, she does see spirits, and all she had ever wanted was someone in her family to listen, and believe her. hell, she'd even accept having a psychiatrist like bruce willis played in the sixth sense, even if he was dead. alex could still really use some help with the ocd part of her life, the seeing dead people part was unavoidable, and after all these years she pretty much accepted the fact that it would never change. now, all alex wanted to do was stop counting and tapping her fingers and repeating things when she was upset, or anxious. fighting with her parents and the rest of her family just made the ocd worse, and it was making her feel sick. that's why she couldn't wait to see tyrone. when he was around her, he eased the need to count, and fear germs in a compulsive way. all her mind could focus on was ty when she's with him, and she was so excited to have it back. alex still had some ocd moments with him, but they were manageable, and over the last few days she wonder if she left her family all together would she eventually just stop being twitchy ocd afflicted alexandrea.
well, alex's parents didn't take to kindly to her dumping her uninteresting boyfriend. in fact, her mother was absolutely livid. what the hell, you know, she was the one that had to be with the guy ... if her mom liked him so much maybe she should start dating him. michael was horribly boring. not only that, he didn't care about her, and when he kissed her, alex never felt the butterflies that she felt when ty kisses her. in fact, ever since she'd experienced ty's kisses, she vowed that she'd never kiss michael again, and broke up with him the morning she went home. yes, and that's when all hell broke loose. who cared if his family was merging companies with her parents. who cared if now they didn't want her to run one of their hotels anymore. alex never wanted to run it in the first place anyway. suddenly she was taking back her life, or getting control of her life that was never really her own to begin with. like she said before, she could handle the seeing dead people thing now, but what she'd never be able to handle was her parents planning her whole life for her. the only thing, they didn't know about tyrone yet. alex didn't want them to think that he was the reason for her rebellion. these were feelings she'd been feeling for awhile now, he just gave her the courage to do something about it. soon though, alex would tell them about ty. that would be after she had concrete arrangements to move to hollywood where her cousin ramsey was waited for her to call and tell him she was on her way. life would be new and scary, and probably make her ocd reach a new level of kooky, but it was worth it to get better, and be closer to ty.
sipping her iced tea, feet propped up on the gate that separated the sidewalk from the cafe, alex waited for tyrone to show up. she knew that he needed to get a portal from new york to here in new orleans. since she'd seen him last, he'd been to savannah georgia, then manhattan, and now he was staying in southampton. smiling to herself, alex thought about ty asking her if she wanted to go to france with him. there was no hesitation in her decision, she said yes, and she was still looking forward to it. she had a passport, not that she'd need it, but she had it ready just in case. her intention was to pack as much as possible.
