Centuries ago a historic family was born. There was a King who saw the world in a different way. He wanted to rule and do things differently. A man with a vision and desire for power. He was no ordinary king. No he was different. The man was called Assendro Serpo. Born into a family that was rich in history, Assendro was not short of backing. A powerful wizard who believed in dark magic and living life a certain way. His family was built on rules and a strong foundation. Break the rules and there was no place for you in his kingdom. 

The family expanded as years went on. The legacy continued. The elder generation had softened over time and taken the family too new levels. Alejandro grandson of Assendro had continued the line. In fact he broke it by becoming an hybrid. Alejandro created a new bloodline for himself creating a new line of Alphas. Alejandro had three children, Aaric, Angela and Andreas. The success and legacy of the family now depended on the youngest Serpo children. There were many but there was one only that counted in Alejandro’s eyes, his grandson. The favourite of them all, Alex Serpo.

Being the favourite, young Alex grew up feeling rich and privellged. There was nothing he couldn't have. Nothing he wasn't entitled too. Alex was surrounded by staff who were at his beck and call. His mother made sure he had the best of everything, his father however was a different ball game. Aaric was cut from a different cloth. Unlike his ancestor he didn’t believe in the pure Serpo nature. He had different beliefs. Aaric was too busy with his second family, his first son born to a different mother and his god daughter. Not like that bothered Alex, he was okay with his dad spending time with them he just wished his father had a better relation with his mother.

Staring the mirror Alex fixed his hair. Today was a special day for him. For the first time in months he heard his brother was in town. Kai hardly came to visit as he didn’t like coming to the house. He didn’t feel he was welcome. Alex mum and Kai hardly saw eye to eye but he wasn't going to let that stop them meeting. The young Serpo sent his mother away and invited Kai over. Not like he needed and invite as it was his house but he wouldn't have come otherwise. Alex also invited his god sister Anna over. Since she had come over they had barely spent anytime together so he thought if he got Kai and Anna in the same room they could have a good time. Either that or fireworks would fly.

Setting up the room he went downstairs to the check the arrangements. Everything was in order. The table was set. He set up a banquet for them. Serpo’s after all did everything in style. They were known for it. Alex ushered the staff out of the room. He didn’t want them to be in the way of his siblings reunion. Looking at the time he wondered where they all were. Impatient he curled his lips wondering when they would come. Just as he was about to text them he heard the door bell ring. “Finally.” He muttered as he stood up waiting to greet them and welcome him to his home.

The day after Halloween, Anna had woken up to a rather elegant looking invitation, sealed with a wax stamp emblazoned with a familiar looking crest. But she had been exhausted, physically, mentally, emotionally. And nothing in that envelope was going to aid in her recovery. It wasn't until the day after that, she decided to open it and see what exactly the Serpo family was inviting her to this time.

It came to a bit of a surprise to her, that it was actually an invitation from Alex and not her godfather. He was hosting some kind of family dinner, a reunion of sorts it would seem, as there was also mention that her brother would be in attendance. Damn, she would have to go now. Which meant dragging herself out of the dorm and making herself look presentable. She had faith she could manage one or the other, but both would prove to be a challenge. Usually, she was up for any challenge, but she had her doubts about this one.

Somehow, some way, Anna managed to fix herself up, and get herself to the Serpo Ville. The brunette rang the doorbell and it did not take long for the young heir apparent to answer. The door swung open and Alex stood there expectantly. She stepped past the wolf and into the foyer, shrugging off her jacket in the process. Hazel eyes darted about quickly, but it seemed she was the first to arrive. She didn't even spot Uncle Aaric.

"So, what exactly put the wild hair up your ass to plan a family dinner?" she arched an eyebrow at Alex, still debating if she should be skeptical of his true motives. In all honesty, she was just glad for the distraction. Anything that she could focus on that wasn't her train wreck of a life, she welcomed. "Not that I'm bitchin' about a free meal," she added with a smirk.

When Alex was sending out the invites he had a few doubts over whether he wanted to hold it or not. Kai and him weren't exactly close but he had finally come back home so Alex thought it was only right for him to invite him over for dinner as he didn't exactly live here. Kai wasn't a massive fan of the house or even his family. Alex couldn't really blame him. He only had time for his dad and Alex. Inviting Anna was something he pondered over as he wasn't sure if he really wanted her here as they weren't exactly close but his dad told him to invite her. Of course fathers favourite goddaughter. Plus Kai and Anna were god sisters maybe it was good opportunity for them to catch up.

Checking his watch he wondered when everyone would turn up. Did they even have plans to come or were they going to leave him hanging. If they didn't want to come he would of appreciated it if they sent him a message or something but nope no one told him anything so Alex was left to wait and wonder if they were going to bother showing up. The thing he did for family and he wasn't even a family person. Alex rode solo.

Finally hearing the door ring he went over and opened the door. Standing there was Anna, not Kai but Anna. “Russo.” He greeted her as she walked past him. Right just ignore the host why not. The things he did for his older brother. Kai should be more grateful in life but he probably wasn't because well he was Kai. “Cant guy throw a family dinner without people judging him?” Alex shook his head. Who was she to question him. His house, his life, if he wanted to throw a dinner he could. There was not always a motive behind it. “Course your not. Why not have a meal on the compliments of the Serpo.” Rolling his eyes he looked around. “Have you seen Kai? Have you heard from Kai?” Where the hell was he. “Or are you too busy running around half of Havens boys to give any time to your own brother.”

“Cant guy throw a family dinner without people judging him?”

" 'A guy' can, but you, Serpo---whose never held his own dinner before ever---cannot," she shook her head, glanced down at the hors d'oeuvres spread beside them, and picked up a strawberry from a fruit tray. "Well, not without me wonderin' why the hell for," she giggled and chomped into the strawberry. She had of course been teasing the young wolf, but it wasn't beyond Alex to take such musings personally. Which, it was looking like he was leaning towards just that. He rolled his eyes and shook his head, clearly amiss about her misconceptions about his intentions. Which only made her giggle harder.

"Relax Alex, I'm just kiddin', it's lovely. And I told ya, I'm not bitchin' bout a free meal," she grinned.

“Course your not. Why not have a meal on the compliments of the Serpo.”

"Modesty isn't your strong suit, is it, Serpo?" she cracked.

“Have you seen Kai? Have you heard from Kai?”

Ah, yes. Kai. The invitation had mentioned this would be a 'family reunion' of sorts, which she suspected played into the ulterior motives Alex claimed not to have. Or perhaps, that was the sole purpose of this shindig, cut and dry. Anna hadn't seen Kai in a long time, and quite a bit had happened in her life since then. She had her reasons for not involving her big brother in the delicate affairs of her heart, most of them having to do with wanting to keep the ones she cared about in one piece. Also, she didn't need him whispering any of his misguided advice in her ear, that rarely ever benefited her and she had a hard time resisting it. Now it was Anna who rolled her eyes and shook her head, giving the wolf a single shouldered shrug.

"I'm sorry, do I look like our brother's keeper?" she arched an eyebrow and hooked her hands on her hips, turning away from him to pretend to busy herself with the food table again.

“Or are you too busy running around half of Havens boys to give any time to your own brother.”

The moment his words registered in her ears, the witch dropped the fruit that was in her hand, and her body pivoted of it's own accord to face Alex, her hand flying quickly with her momentum until her palm smacked clear across the young wolf's face. Her blood had boiled at the shaming, implicating comment, so much so that she could feel the telekinetic kick behind her action, made apparent when Alex was knocked back a step. She had never meant to hit him, but it had been a knee-jerk reaction. She wasn't fully aware of herself when it happened, it just, happened. She'd been trying desperately to avoid that part of her life and he had to throw salt in the festering wound.

Anna didn't care that it wasn't her house, she wasn't going to stand by idly and accept such blatant disrespect. Alex was essentially slut-shaming her, which was ridiculous because Anna was still as pure as untouched snow. She wasn't sure if Alex could say the same, but she didn't really want to know, his personal life wasn't exactly anywhere near her list of priorities. Anna's hazel eyes flashed dangerously as she glared at him. He'd said some low things over the years, but that was just unnecessarily cruel. Especially since she was so broken over the repercussions of her choices.

"If you've invited me here to insult and shame me as some sort of bro-code, House-solidarity ploy," she said in a shaky, dangerous tone; the lights above them flickered as the witch struggled to regain full control over herself, "Save it. There's no way you could possibly make me feel worse about myself than I already do... that being said, my personal life is far from your business or anyone elses, so I'll thank you to leave it alone," she crossed her arms over her chest. "You don't see me pryin' into your thing with Sera, and she's my best friend," she added with another eye roll.
